Kora Rae
I recently had the pleasure of organizing one my first new blog shoots for an incredible label - Kora Rae.Kora Rae is the brainchild of Rachel Turzer - and features gorgeous jewel toned colors, delicate hand beading and luxurious silks and leathers in her designs. The clean cut silhouettes really flattered my curves and I found it very easy to mix and match the pieces with both the Kora Rae collection and my own wardrobe. These high-quality designs are both excellent staples and stand out pieces that can be dressed down with leather sandals for daytime, or up with heels for the office or an event. Best of all, a percentage of the proceeds goes to Kora - a rescued tiger cub at the Branson, Missouri National Tiger Sanctuary, sponsored by Rachel. All photography is by the amazing Raul Ospina.
This modern take on the classic white suit keeps the look simple in well-cut monochrome, but gives a little extra sex appeal with the added bralette and heels.
The silk Emerald Isle Jumpsuit could be worn during the day with leather sandals or dressed up with a metallic belt and heels (and perhaps a long pendant) at night, however the delicately hand beaded shoulder details make it dressy enough to forgo accessories altogether. This so light and comfortable to wear! Definitely a wardrobe staple. And of course I found a dog on set :)
The Tiare top can be worn two ways. Either with the plunging neckline for a bolder look, or a reversed for a higher neckline with a deep V in the back for an understated sexiness. Paired with the pencil skirt, it can be taken from the office to after work drinks, a nod to the on-trend, Mad-Men inspired looks.
Technically these two are separates designed to be paired with other things, but for a real statement, the embroidery stands out so well together, even though the leather on the skirt is a slightly creamier color. They're such luxurious pieces, and very unique. The leather, beading and stitching is extremely, which is something I always look out for in highly detailed pieces like this, it's unusual to find. The bustier could also work with the pants or the pencil skirt, and the skirt could be paired with any silk, flowy top or singlet, and the Sting Rae Jacket for extra structure.
So here we have another embellished skirt and I've brightened up the whole look with a jewel-toned silk cami to make it playful and fun. The colors compliment the beading and embroidery keeping it fresh and young.
For something a little more edgy and sultry, I've gone back to that Premonition bralette and paired it with the Kora Rae Motu Leather shorts. These shorts are great, the leather is just the right cut, length and thickness. They don't overly stretch and go saggy and could be pair with a white tee for a day time look and anything from singlets, to bralettes to sparkly tops for the night time.
A huge thank you to Rachel for these beautiful pieces and to Raul Ospina for his amazing photography on such a hot, humid day. We managed to churn all of this out in about 6 hours! Not bad! And thanks to Jet the pup for chewing my shoe lol...
