Boho 2.0

No longer reserved for hippie festivals and caravanning around the country, Boho trends have come a long way in working themselves back into our wardrobe staples recently.  Boho gets an update in new season picks and is now characterized by floaty, flirty and feminine pieces that work with curves and flow beautifully with movement.  Boho inspired pieces were hot all over the runways in recent season previews, and now it's translating into wearable styles bursting with colour, texture, creativity and gypsy details.

One of my favorite stores, hot on the trend and reinventing boho to be fresh and modern is Ixiah - just wandering through the store makes me instinctively reach out to feel each piece, to discover all the layers and watch the textures flow through movement.  As a gypsy soul myself, the collection really speaks to me.  Delicate silks, crepes and crochets weave in and out with beautiful gold and silver embellishments, beading and feathers.   Dreamy and softly flowing, the pieces suit a variety of body shapes, from those with slimline waif figures, to those of us with some curves - a real label FOR women BY women.

Typically I couldn't resist photographing some select pieces in a in a few ways as they danced in different light techniques.  The effortlessness of the designs translating through the photos amongst all my twirling and exploring the streets of Sydney.

Check out the photo stories below by Margarita Nazarenko and Mark Stanley - and enjoy the new Boho, all grown up.
